Originality
We loved coming up with original ideas, always adapting them to new trends. What could be more surprising than a birth announcement in the form of a video? Or a “golden video” that captures the voices and faces of the wedding guests?
Before each wedding, we met the couple to talk about their wishes and their vision for the film. Together, we went through the running order of the day and planned the shoot.
We followed the couple discreetly throughout the day, capturing those precious moments of life, from the getting-ready to the first dance.
Then the films took shape: the ceremony and the speeches were edited in full, and we kept their finest moments to create the highlights film.
Once the films were finished, we came to the couple’s home to screen them for the very first time, over drinks. It was also a chance to talk about their experience with Jour-J Films.
Our story

2010
Friends asked us to film their wedding. We took up the challenge with a short, lively film designed to age well. It was a great success and was shared many times online.

2011
We went to London for a workshop led by Joe Simon and Kevin Shahinian, leaders of the wedding film market in the United States. Beyond technique, what we learned above all was how to tell a story.

2013
After weddings, offering films for the family felt only natural. We created our first video birth announcements, to be treasured as dearly as a child’s first lock of hair.

2014
On 12 July 2014, Anaïs and Justin said “I do” in Founex and at Les Portes des Iris. After a teaser, we unveiled the film of their wedding. Their words then welcomed visitors to our website: “Thank you for letting us relive our wedding”.

2019
After almost ten years, we stopped making new wedding films at the end of the 2019 season. Marie and Sylvain’s film, shot on 19 October 2019 at Les Portes des Iris, is one of our very last.
